Description
Siren Generator Module is based on UM3561A siren generator IC. This module has an on board speaker which can make the sirens audible. UM3561 can generate 4 different sirens. Those are-1. Police Siren 2. Fire Engine Siren 3. Ambulance Siren 4. Machinegun sound.
Powering up the board: Give 5V DC supply to the board by connecting any DC power source to the +5V and GND pins. Keep the slide switch in ‘ON’position. When the slide switch is in ‘ON’ position, the green LED will glow and when in ‘OFF’ position, the red LED will glow.
Generating Sirens:This module lets you select among these four sirens. With the 4-pin connector named ‘sound generator’ and the black jumper provided with it . If you keep the jumper disconnected and connector open, the module will produce police siren by default. If you connect the two connectors at the right with jumpers, fire engine siren will be produced. By conencting the two connectors in the middle, you can generate ambulance siren. And if you connect the first two connectors from the left with the jumper, the module will sound like machinegun. Sounds will be only produced when you keep the white button pressed or keep the ‘ctrl’ pin High. You can vary the frequency of generated sound by varying the blue colored POT.
